New Year New House?

Gotta say, winning this dream house from HGTV would certainly brighten my spirits in 2011.

Happy New Year To Me! :)

Inspired!

black kitchen
I doubt that Lindsey over at the inside stoop was talking to me when she posted this-probably because we don't even know each other..... but I am Courtney... and I am definitely listening! That kitchen is GORGEOUS. I have never really thought of a black/dark gray kitchen before... it seems like black and dark gray walls and cabinets are taking over my blogroll one blogger at a time and it is definitely sinking in with me! Maybe just one wall. Somewhere. And let it trickle its way through the house after a while...

New Accent Plates?

westelm These would add a little bling to my all white place settings. I wish they were a tad cheaper though. For now, they are on the wishlist :)

Impulse purchase

all mine!

Well, maybe not totally an impulse purchase... it depends, do you call finding a sweet print online and then searching for an hour for products using that fabric an impulse? Either way, these are going to be a sweet addition to my kitchen :)

Friday Find

I am just smitten with these mugs! How clever it would be to fill them up with coffee and give to your friend or spouse for a little laugh?! Maybe it is just my weird sense of humor, or that I think that everyone is part geek in reality :)

Can you say jealous?!

Rail-Finished-Straight-Far
srsly! Not only do I love Young House Love's ENTIRE house, this new project has me seriously swooning. I am trying to figure out where to do this in my own house currently. I just know it would look great in my studio... and I could even place my stationery, prints, and invitations on it! ohh the possibilities...

ps- check out there blog- it is great. I am a daily reader!

VerTerra Dishes

image_1255114809

I have seen these compostable dishes around in stores before but never made the big purchase. But last night I was at an event party where all the cocktails were served in these little plates. They are really cool looking and good for the environment! I pretty much wanted to keep each plate served to me... but since my clutch was about the size of my hand, I had to leave them all behind. Luckily there are a few places in my area to grab some for the next party I throw! Now just to do the planning.... :)

petitcollage

I love these prints from petitcollage. I especially love this one of San Francisco. I wish I could go back there again. It has been almost two years since I was there for my honeymoon...

Lonny Mag

lonny magazine

If you sorely miss blueprint or domino magazine (I know I do!!!) you should check out Lonny Magazine It is an online magazine that definitely fills the void of a home decorating magazine. I am not sure if it will continue to be free but if it does, I know I will be checking it out at every issue!

A Splash of Fun

Illustrator Helen Dardik has been a favorite of mine for some time. I love her fun, young, retro, and whimsical style. Some of my favorites she has done are from when she started experimenting with watercolor- what an effect! She has a really fun blog, Orange You Lucky!, that I read daily as well as a great website, One Lucky Helen, where you can view her illustrations, patterns and art. She even has an etsy shop where she now sells some of her prints! I can't wait to get a few some day- they would really add a splash of color to any room!

If I could, I would

...have an entire wall filled with overlapping, seemingly mismatched tiles just like this. What a statement it would make, especially with a fabulously simple tub just like that. Dang!
